Things that make us happy

Hoptimist figurine, Bjørn Wiinblad Eva candle holder and Mr Wattson lamp on display - happy Nordic homeware

We firmly believe in finding a bit of joy in the everyday - whether that's taking our time over a nice cup of tea, using well-made products made for good, or something cheery on your desk to make us smile. So here's our list of things that make us happy, in the hope that they bring a bit of happiness to you, too.

Hoptimist bouncy joy

Bouncing, springy Danish joy - Hoptimists are designed for happiness. We might be running a little low on them after Christmas, but we're stocking up again soon. Happy faces, joyful colours and a wee reminder that we don't have to grow up just yet…

Iris Hantverk hand-made brushes

Collection of Iris Hantverk handmade wooden brushes displayed together

Well-made things make us happy - even if those well-made things are intended for cleaning up. Iris Hantverk brushes, soaps, cloths and other products are made by hand, and are lovely to touch and use. Not only that, they're made by visually-impaired craftsmen. So, good products all round. As well as the brushes, we also love their delicious-smelling soaps and oak coffee scoops.

A good cup of coffee (or tea)

It might be cold outside, but we're nice and cosy inside with a nice cuppa (and usually with something tasty to go with it, too). A nice mug is a thing of everyday joy. Broste Copenhagen's curvy tea cups beg for you to hold them. Or enjoy a double-hit of happiness with a good cup of coffee in a cheery Moomin mug.

Mr Wattson lamps

Full of personality and charm, as well as practical benefits, Mr Wattson lamps have adjustable ash wood limbs and an aluminium shade modelled on that of a vintage Vespa headlight. Pose him on a shelf or desktop to lighten up your workspace (pun intended).

Bjørn Wiinblad's smiling ladies

Even the darkest of days is made a bit cheerier with Bjørn Wiinblad. There's a reason we keep coming back to these painted ladies - they just make us happy. Eva is probably our favourite, but there's also Olga, Carmen and the Lady with Hat. Pop her on a shelf or windowsill, add a colourful candle or some flowers and give her a happy boop on the nose whenever you pass her.
