Kay Bojesen
Kay Bojesen's intention was never to create exact replicas of wildlife, but rather to produce animals whose designs reflected a child's view of animals. His creations, designed between the 1930s-50s, were to be based on simple, beautiful shapes, tactile materials and should inspire imaginative play. Thus his charming menagerie of solid, tactile designs took shape. Fulfilling Bojesen's dream, his playful collection of animals and figurines, now produced by the respected Danish Rosendahl Group, have become treasured classics the world over.
