Kitchen gadgets we love (and use ourselves)

We love food, and we love cooking. And we stock a lot of beautiful Scandi kitchenware — but the true heroes are the functional, well-designed gadgets that actually get the job done. Here are some of our favourites, as judged (and used) by us…
Dreamfarm Supoon
A great bit of kitchen kit, this flexible silicone spoon measures, scrapes and spoons — and then sits flat on your worksurface when you put it down, so it doesn't make a mess. It's heatproof to 250ºC, and you can throw it in the dishwasher. Available in a cheerful range of colours, and in two sizes (see the mini version here). Love it.
Rosti Mensura Kitchen Scale
Sturdy, space-saving and attractive, these scales turn off automatically after use. And you can flip the lid to use as a bowl. No wonder they've won awards. Available in dusty blue or black.
Zone Denmark garlic press
Zone Denmark make good gadgets, and this matte steel garlic press is one of our favourites. Good-looking and practical — just roll over the garlic cloves and voilà. Easy to clean afterwards, too. We've an Eva Solo garlic masher, too.
Eva Solo Green Tools Flavour Grinder
Eva Solo's Green Tools range is all about clever design solutions for everyday kitchen tasks — and this spice grinder is a good example. Crush and grind fresh or dried spices with a simple twisting action, and the ground spices collect neatly in the little vessel below, ready to add to your food. Dishwasher safe, too. Satisfying in the hand and on the worktop.
Broste Limfjord chopping board
Gadget? Not really. But this mini natural oak chopping board is perfect for cutting lemons and limes, so it makes the list. G&T, anyone?
Rosti Classic cheese box
More Rosti, because they really do make brilliant things. This classic cheese box keeps your cheese fresh, looks great in the fridge, and is — as ever with Rosti — satisfyingly well-made. Simple - but great - idea. Also available in Humus (beige).

Zone Denmark hexagon trivet set
We love a trivet that does more than just sit there. This set of three hexagonal trivets from Zone Denmark can be arranged together however you like — and they look great too. We've also got them as individual trivets or other sets of 3 in different colour ways.

Dreamfarm Grindenstein
Stretching the definition of gadget, perhaps — but if you've got an espresso machine at home, this is one of those things you didn't know you needed. A knock box for used coffee grounds: satisfying to use, easy to empty, and compact enough to sit unobtrusively on your worktop. More Dreamfarm brilliance.
