Lovingly knitted in Peru for Samantha Holmes by an expert team of skilled artisans, this exquisite Nordic style blanket is crafted in a soft, durable alpaca and lambswool blend and boasts not only luxurious material but also a touch of humour with its update on the traditional fair isle design - spot the alpacas!
Gently felted for a snag-proof finish, the pattern is expertly reversed on the underside (no floaters like you usually get with Fair Isle knitting) and the finished product is durable, warm and very beautiful. The blanket looks most impressive draped over the sofa or at the end of the bed but is practical too and is perfect for picnics and festivals, travelling and star gazing.

ABOUT SAMANTHA HOLMES
Founded in 2003 in Scotland, the Samantha Holmes label is one the longest established lifestyle alpaca clothing brands in the UK. The company is still owned and run by Samantha Holmes from her home on the west coast of Scotland. Samantha found her first inspiration for luxury fabrics and traditional craftsmanship in Nepal from where she imported cashmere from a small hand-weaving cooperative. But it was on discovering alpaca, that she found her niche. Samantha travelled to Peru to make contact with small producer groups, most of whom she still works with now and together they continue to produce an exclusive collection of handcrafted luxury alpaca gifts.
ALPACA PRODUCT CARE
Alpaca improves with age and Samantha Holmes products will not always feel as soft and supple when new as they will with continued wear. A cool handwash (30º) with a mild detergent such as baby shampoo is recommended. Wash for no more than 5 minutes. Rinse in lukewarm water, always pressing, not wringing the fabric. Wrap the item in a clean dry towel to absorb excess moisture. Reshape as necessary and lay flat to dry. Do not hang your wet alpaca garment as it will stretch.
Your order will usually be sent by Royal Mail or courier and you will have the option of standard or express delivery. For express delivery, orders should be placed before 12 noon. Charges for delivery are as follows:
- FREE Standard UK Delivery: On orders over £45
- Standard UK Delivery: £4.95
- Express UK Delivery: £9.95
- Fragile or large items: £15
- Deliveries to EU countries: £15
- Deliveries to countries outside Europe: £30
Once you have placed an order it will be dispatched the same day or the next day depending on the time the order was placed. If you wish to cancel your order after it has been dispatched, you will be charged for both delivery and collection cost.
If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. Instructions for packages sent by courier to be left on the premises or with a neighbour when you are not a home are left at your own risk and no liability rests with either The Scandinavian shop or the courier company. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.
All quoted UK delivery prices are for most UK Mainland addresses. Northern Ireland (BT), Isle of Wight (PO30-37), Isle of Man (IM), Scottish Highlands and Orkney Isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles (HS, ZE) will incur additional charges and may also experience delivery delays; morning, Saturday and "next working day" deliveries are optional and will also incur additional charges.
Occasionally there may be additional delivery charges for large or heavy orders, especially to UK Highlands and Islands or to areas outside the UK. In such circumstances you will be contacted to discuss shipping options.
We will only deliver goods to the address on the order.

On occasion, however, goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outside our control. As such, delivery can not be guaranteed and any dates we specify for the delivery of goods are approximate only. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. In the unlikely event that an item is out of stock and delivery subject to a delay in sourcing from the manufacturer, you will be contacted and given the opportunity either to proceed with your order or receive a refund if preferred.

If you are unhappy with the goods received we will refund them if they are sent back at the customer's expense in new resaleable condition within 7 working days along with the original receipt.
We suggest for your own protection you use 1st class registered post.
Any refunds will be issued once we have received the goods, in their original condition. This refund only includes the total of goods sent not the delivery charge.
We will not charge a restocking fee for returned items.
Any goods with manufacturing faults on arrival will be replaced or refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Purchases may be exchanged for an alternative size or colour if wished, as long as the preferred item is in stock. Responsibility for the cost of returning goods for exchange lies with the purchaser and a re-delivery charge at our standard rate will apply.
Please note that for reasons of hygiene, we are not able to accept the return or exchange of earrings, unless faulty.
